This program is designed to provide elevated work platform operators with a solid foundation in health and safety standards, preventative maintenance and proper procedures for safe operation. The course consists of classroom theory with a written component and practical, hands-on experience.
Course content is presented through a PowerPoint presentation and interactive discussion, and reinforced through workbooks and supplementary handouts.

- safety regulations and standards
- aerial platform fundamentals
- hazard identificaiotn
- manual and powered vertical aerial platforms
- machine stability & characteristics
- preventative maintenance & procedures (pre-operational inspections)
- job safety analysis
- machine orientation & safe operation: proper start up a& shut down protocol, steering & controls, operation envelope & range of motion, emergency controls, safe dismounting.
