The purpose of this manual is to provide training & reference information to Viking maintenance personnel involved any ground operations of Viking DHC-6 Series 400 aircraft, primarily at the Viking Air facilities at Calgary International & Victoria Airports. It also provides procedural guidance for ground operations performed elsewhere, eg. contractor’s paint facilities & customer’s operating locations.
It is designed to accompany the modular training course (classroom & in-aircraft) provided by Viking Air to all maintenance personnel involved in aircraft ground operations. This training package will ensure that:
• Aircraft ground operations are conducted safely & in line with “best practice”
• All maintenance personnel conduct such operations to the same high standard
• Employees new to Viking receive the same comprehensive training
This manual is not a substitute for the training course. All maintenance personnel involved in aircraft ground operations must have had the appropriate company training & been signed off as competent before conducting such activities.
